One night, about one or two years ago, I was dreaming of a lake surrounded by woods, next to the woods was a parking lot with my boyfriend's mom's van parked in it and inside of that was my mom in the driver seat. All of a sudden I became consciously aware that I was dreaming. What helped me to realise it was a dream was the fact that I had never seen the lake before and my mom would never drive his moms car so I knew I was dreaming at that point and so for some reason I got an urge and wanting to make the van back out and drive down the road that exits the parking lot. I started backing the car out and for some reason before I could drive away the dream just froze and became stuck and I woke up seconds later.
It was a very short lucid dream but overall it was still a fun and exciting experience. I would have liked it to be longer but I'm not complaining. I had never had this type of dream or knew what it was before this occasion and I didn't purposefully do it, it just came naturally.
I'm very grateful that I've had the opportunity to experience this and I encourage everyone to try it. If you've never done it then the first time can be really mind opening plus there is an added benefit for people with nightmares. You can learn to induce these dreams so you sleep more pleasantly.
That's all I have for the blog today but will be posting more soon. If you have a first time lucid dreaming experience that you would like to share or any thoughts on the subject please leave a comment, they are always appreciated.
